Historic Aviation Visits Key Air FBOs

The B-17, B24 and P-51 are on the 23rd season of the Wings of Freedom Tour

On September 7, 2012 till September 10, 2012, Key Air NY Metro (OXC) in Oxford Connecticut will once again welcome the Collings Foundation as they host their 23rdAnnual “Wings of Freedom Tour”.  Local residents and aviation enthusiasts will have a chance to relive history and take a flight on-board the B-17, B-24 & P-51 and tour through the authentically restored aircraft. 

Sixty years after their use over the skies of enemy territory, they embark on a new mission over the skies of America to honor our veterans of World War II, promote education of our future generations about the role of the aircraft and the flight crews of World War II, and to preserve these treasures of American aviation history where they belong: the sky.

Key Air NY Metro also recently hosted the “Honor Their Legacy 2012 B-17 Tour” presented by Rich Krikorian of the EAA earlier last month.  Flights were offered aboard “The Flying Fortress” along with ground tours of the famous WWII Bomber.  For more information about the EAA, please call 800-359-6217 or visit www.B17.org/2012.

Replica Of The Vietnam Memorial Wall

The Collings Foundation also received a great welcome by our FBO facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Key Air Twin Cities (ANE) earlier this year.  Aviation enthusiasts in the Midwest were able to experience these historic war birds firsthand. 

Most recently, Key Air Twin Cities sponsored “Discover Aviation Days” – a local aviation event held at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport – by donating 200 gallons of Avgas for the North American T-6 flyovers.  The draw for this year’s event was the Replica Of The Vietnam Memorial Wall.  Estimated attendance of the weekend event was 13,000 and over 900 attended the Saturday Evening Hangar Dance.

Relive History Aboard the B-24

The EAA signed up over 40 kids during the aviation days weekend to go on “Young Eagles” free introduction flights for children 8-17 years old.  Key Air is honored to play a role in providing future generations the opportunity to relive history and pay tribute to the veterans of World War II.

3M Championship Partners with Key Air Twin Cities FBO in Minneapolis, Minnesota for its Champions Tour Event

Key Air Twin Cities (ANE) offer spectators free auto parking and shuttles to the course.

Key Air Twin Cities (ANE) will once again partner with 3M Championship for their annual Champions Tour golf event at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN, from July 3oth to August 5th.  We recognize the positive effect that the 3M Championship provides the Minnesota community through this charity event and are proud to be part of it.   In addition, Key Air Twin Cities will sponsor the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce and Anoka County tent in support of the area’s business communities. Welcome to all business jet travelers - our full-service Fixed Base Operations  (FBO) provide the closest,  most convenient, and best option to those flying in to see the pros! We are also hosting FREE auto parking with shuttles to the course for all spectators.

The 3M Championship is set to achieve an unprecedented goal for a Champions Tour event. Charitable contributions will reach $20 million in 2012 which also marks the tournament’s 20th anniversary. There are no other Champions Tour events that have attained this level of charitable contributions in this time frame.

Not only is the tournament an important golf event for Minnesota, but it also exemplifies the 3M Championship’s positive impact on the community. Proceeds have impacted lives, benefited communities and raised the level of health care for Minnesotans.

The tournament tees off July 30 -August 5 at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, MN. For the fourth consecutive year, the 3M Championship will offer FREE ADMISSION to all spectators. The tournament field is expected to be another great one including defending champion Jay Haas, Nick Price, Fuzzy Zoeller, Bernhard Langer, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Lehman, Mark Calcavecchia and Fred Funk.

For the ninth consecutive year, icons of the golf world, including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Chi Chi Rodriguez, will participate in the Greats of Golf Challenge, a best-ball tournament-within-the-tournament sponsored by Post-it (R) brand products.
